Bruce Branch III Reclassifies to 2026, Eyes NBA Draft Opportunity

BREAKING: Bruce Branch III, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, has just announced his decision to reclassify to the 2026 class. The announcement came on Saturday, marking a significant shift in the landscape of college basketball recruiting. Branch will graduate from Prolific Prep in Florida this spring, positioning himself to play college basketball next fall.

“I believe in my ability. I am confident that I can do this,” Branch told ESPN, emphasizing his determination. “I have been playing up my whole life. I am not going to let anyone outwork me.” This confidence could make him a frontrunner in the upcoming 2027 NBA Draft, especially in a draft class considered less competitive than 2026.

Branch, who turned 17 last month, is currently being pursued by top-tier programs including Kentucky, Kansas, Louisville, USC, BYU, Arizona, Houston, and Miami. Though he hasn’t taken any official visits yet, a decision about his recruitment is expected this spring. “I want to take things one step at a time,” he stated. “I want to focus on our season and my team. I want to win it all at Chipotle Nationals.”

At 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-2 wingspan, Branch’s athleticism is NBA-caliber. He averaged 15.9 points and 5.2 rebounds during the Adidas 3SSB circuit last spring and summer, showcasing his impressive shooting ability with a 39% success rate from beyond the arc. His smooth shooting mechanics and explosive speed make him a standout player, particularly in transition.

“His work ethic will prepare him for this reclassification,” said Ryan Bernardi, Branch’s coach at Prolific Prep. “He is emotionally stable; he does not get too high or too low.” Branch’s drive and focus are evident as he navigates this pivotal point in his career, aiming to maximize his opportunities while facing the challenges of reclassification.

As Branch prepares for this next chapter, basketball fans and analysts alike will be watching closely. His decision not only impacts his future but also the recruitment landscape for top college programs. With a strong performance expected at the Chipotle Nationals, Branch is poised to solidify his standing as one of the premier talents in his class.

Stay tuned for further updates as Branch embarks on this ambitious journey towards the NBA. The implications of his decision are significant, and the basketball community will be eager to see how his future unfolds.
