URGENT UPDATE: A police chase involving a stolen vehicle with three children inside culminated in a violent crash on the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu on Friday evening. The incident unfolded just before 7:00 PM when authorities initiated a pursuit of a suspect in East Los Angeles.
The chase rapidly escalated as the suspect evaded capture, leading officers from the California Highway Patrol through Santa Monica before merging onto the PCH. Around 7:35 PM, the situation turned dire when the suspect T-boned another vehicle near Point Dume Road, resulting in a major crash.
As the vehicle came to a halt, the suspect fled on foot, sprinting up an embankment into a nearby field. Meanwhile, officers quickly responded to the crash scene, assisting two older children and one small child in a car seat from the wreckage. All three children were conscious and breathing and were subsequently transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
