URGENT UPDATE: A police chase involving a stolen vehicle with three children inside culminated in a violent crash on the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu on Friday evening. The incident unfolded just before 7:00 PM when authorities initiated a pursuit of a suspect in East Los Angeles.

The chase rapidly escalated as the suspect evaded capture, leading officers from the California Highway Patrol through Santa Monica before merging onto the PCH. Around 7:35 PM, the situation turned dire when the suspect T-boned another vehicle near Point Dume Road, resulting in a major crash.

As the vehicle came to a halt, the suspect fled on foot, sprinting up an embankment into a nearby field. Meanwhile, officers quickly responded to the crash scene, assisting two older children and one small child in a car seat from the wreckage. All three children were conscious and breathing and were subsequently transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

At least one individual in the struck vehicle was also treated by paramedics on-site, highlighting the incident’s severity. By 7:50 PM, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department successfully apprehended the suspect in a nearby neighborhood, bringing a swift end to the chaotic scene.

This alarming incident raises significant concerns about child safety during police pursuits and highlights the risks involved for innocent bystanders. As investigations continue, authorities are expected to provide further updates on the condition of the children and any potential charges against the suspect.
