Delta Airlines Partners with Crunchyroll for In-Flight Anime Streaming

URGENT UPDATE: Anime fans rejoice! Delta Airlines has just announced a groundbreaking partnership with Crunchyroll, set to launch later this year. Passengers will soon be able to stream a staggering 50,000 episodes of beloved anime TV shows and films directly on their flights.

Starting in late 2023, Delta passengers can enjoy Crunchyroll’s extensive library through Delta’s in-flight streaming service. For those who prefer watching on personal devices, a 24-hour free trial of Crunchyroll will be available via Delta’s in-flight Wi-Fi.

“There is nothing better on a long flight than immersing yourself in the rich storytelling and world-building of anime. When they get hooked, they can continue their experience on the app,” stated Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll.

The announcement has sparked a wave of excitement among anime enthusiasts on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Fans are expressing their anticipation, with one user declaring, “All anime fans who will be taking flights with Delta Airlines from now on!” Another user humorously remarked, “Delta bouta have folks missing their connecting flights just to finish an arc.”

The partnership is expected to attract more passengers to Delta, as anime continues to grow in popularity. However, some fans are already joking about potential scenarios the new service could create. “When I’m on a Delta and want to watch anime, but not on Crunchyroll, so I decide to pirate it from my phone and the Crunchy AI detects this,” one user tweeted, highlighting the chaotic internet humor that surrounds the anime community.

Others have voiced concerns over the potential for viewing explicit anime content, with one user sarcastically suggesting that it could lead to awkward moments between passengers. This reflects the vibrant and often chaotic nature of online discussions surrounding anime culture.

As the launch date approaches, anime fans are left buzzing with excitement about the opportunity to enjoy their favorite shows at 30,000 feet. Keep an eye on Delta Airlines for further updates on this innovative partnership and prepare for a new way to experience anime while traveling.

With this game-changing addition to in-flight entertainment, Delta aims to enhance the flying experience and cater to the growing demographic of anime lovers around the globe. Stay tuned for more urgent developments on this story!
