The University of the Incarnate Word’s Feik School of Pharmacy has achieved a remarkable milestone, ranking first in Texas for pass rates on the latest North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX). The Class of 2025 recorded an impressive pass rate of 97%, outperforming all nine pharmacy schools in Texas and securing the seventh position nationally among 142 schools.
These results underscore the strong educational foundation provided by the Feik School of Pharmacy. The state average pass rate for Texas was 87%, while the national average stood at 86.8%. University officials noted that this year’s performance marks the highest NAPLEX scores in the school’s history.
Significant Achievement in Pharmacy Education
Dr. David Maize, dean of the UIW Feik School of Pharmacy, expressed pride in the accomplishments of the Class of 2025. “For the past five years, we have consistently ranked among the top three pharmacy schools in Texas for licensure pass rates. However, this is the first time we have secured the number one position,” Dr. Maize said. He attributed this success to the hard work of the students and the unwavering dedication of the faculty and staff. “The Feik School of Pharmacy provides a superior education in a supportive environment. This commitment to excellence is what makes us the ‘Pharmily’,” he added.
Founded in 2004, the Feik School of Pharmacy was established to address the growing need for highly trained, culturally competent pharmacists and patient advocates. The school places a strong emphasis on serving communities across Texas and beyond, particularly focusing on underserved populations.
The achievements of the Feik School of Pharmacy highlight the institution’s commitment to fostering a rigorous academic environment while prioritizing community service. As the demand for qualified pharmacists continues to rise, the success of its students on the NAPLEX positions the school as a leader in pharmacy education in Texas and nationally.
