Wilmington police have arrested two men following an alleged burglary on Maryland Avenue, during which one suspect reportedly threatened a victim with a knife. The incident occurred on August 15, 2025, at approximately 22:36 when officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 800 block of Maryland Avenue.
Upon arrival, police identified the suspects as Elijah Berry, 27, and Nas’sur Skinner, 26. Investigators allege that during the burglary, Berry was found in possession of a knife and threatened the victim. Officers recovered stolen property from the residence and returned it to the victim.
Berry faces several serious charges, including possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, first-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, theft under $1,500, terroristic threatening, and criminal mischief under $1,000. After being arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a secured bail of $29,500.
Skinner has been charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, and theft under $1,500. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $7,000 unsecured bail.
