A six-year-old boy was discovered gravely injured in a ditch after a brutal attack that has left the local community in shock. The child was found on March 1, 2024, in the Blue Skye informal settlement near Boksburg, Gauteng Province, after being restrained, pepper-sprayed, and having his genitals severed. Reports suggest that the incident may be linked to alleged voodoo practices or Satanism.
The boy was located crying for help in an overgrown field, covered in blood, by local residents who responded to his desperate pleas. Upon closer examination, they identified the horrifying nature of his injuries, initially suspecting a stabbing before discovering the extent of the castration. According to The Mail Online, the child was near death from blood loss when emergency responders arrived.
Parents in the area have expressed deep concern for their children’s safety following this disturbing event. One anonymous local remarked, “Who would do such a thing to such a little boy – it really is the cruellest of the cruel.” Another resident added, “The rumors are it is Satanism or taking body parts for a voodoo ritual, but this little boy will now not be able to have children ever.”
Chantel Naude, a resident familiar with the boy, shared her worries, stating, “I am considering moving out of the area as we feel unsafe, as I have boys as well and don’t want them attacked as well.” She described the boy as polite and often seen looking for food or spare change, highlighting the tragic circumstances surrounding his life.
Emergency services have not disclosed the full extent of the boy’s injuries due to their sensitive nature. Colonel Matshedeso Mbele, the South African Police station commander in Boksburg, confirmed that the investigation is being treated as a case of attempted murder. Authorities are still in the process of determining who is responsible for the attack, whether it involved adults or older children.
As the boy continues to receive medical treatment, he is reported to be in stable condition. The local community remains on high alert, grappling with the implications of such a violent act against a vulnerable child.
