Starting October 1, residents of Nevada can preview their health insurance options for the 2026 plan year at NevadaHealthLink.com. This initiative allows individuals to explore available plans ahead of the official Open Enrollment period, which begins on November 1, 2025, and concludes on January 15, 2026.
Janel Davis, Executive Officer of Nevada Health Link, emphasized the importance of reviewing health insurance options. “As we look to the 2026 Open Enrollment Period, it’s now vitally important for Nevadans to review their health insurance options and connect with a broker or navigator if they have questions,” said Davis. She encouraged all residents, whether currently uninsured or already enrolled, to explore the Marketplace for new options that could offer better coverage at potentially lower costs.
Throughout October, Nevadans will have access to a prescreener tool that helps assess eligibility for financial assistance, aimed at reducing monthly premium costs. This assistance is particularly beneficial for those who may struggle to afford health coverage.
New Plans and Coverage Options
For the first time, new state-approved Battle Born State Plans (BBSPs) will be available through Nevada Health Link. Like all plans within the Marketplace, these BBSPs will cover the ten essential health benefits, which include hospitalization, doctor visits, emergency care, lab work, and prescription drugs. A key feature of BBSPs is that they are mandated by state law to be offered statewide and must meet specific targets to control premium growth, ultimately expanding coverage options for more Nevadans regardless of their income level.
Additionally, the Governor’s Market Stabilization program will utilize federal savings from these new plans to support a market-wide reinsurance initiative starting in 2026. This program aims to further lower premium costs for all Nevadans in the individual market.
For the 2026 plan year, BBSPs will be offered by three carriers: Health Plan of Nevada, Anthem (Community Care Health Plan of Nevada), and SilverSummit Health Plan (Ambetter).
Qualified Health Plans and Enrollment Assistance
In total, Nevada Health Link will provide 140 Qualified Health Plans across eight carriers for the upcoming year, along with 13 Qualified Dental Plans from four dental insurance providers. The health insurance carriers include:
– SilverSummit Health Plan (Ambetter)
– Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
– Health Plan of Nevada (HPN)
– Hometown Health
– Imperial Health Plan
– Molina Healthcare
– Select HealthCareSource
A breakdown of Qualified Health Plans by service area shows that Clark County and Nye County will have the largest selection, with 106 plans available, including 11 BBSPs. Other counties, such as Washoe, Douglas, and Carson City, also have access to multiple plans, ensuring diverse options for residents across the state.
NevadaHealthLink.com remains the exclusive platform for Nevadans to access federal financial assistance, which is crucial for reducing monthly premiums. Certified enrollment assisters, including licensed brokers and navigators, are available to guide individuals through the process, answer questions, and determine eligibility for assistance.
Davis highlighted the importance of having health insurance, stating, “The value of health insurance cannot be overstated. We provide free enrollment assistance in multiple languages, whether through our call center, website, or licensed brokers and navigators. We want Nevadans to know that support is available every step of the way, and that quality, potentially life-saving coverage is within reach.”
Nevada Health Link is particularly beneficial for those who do not receive health insurance through their employer and are ineligible for Medicare or Medicaid.
