The organizing committee for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games has unveiled two official posters for the upcoming Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The designs, revealed on Wednesday, aim to capture the essence of the host locations, Milan and Cortina, through bold and graphic representations.
The posters, crafted by Italian artists Olimpia Zagnoli and Carolina Altavilla, reflect a rich tradition of Olympic art that dates back to the early 20th century. The designs are intended to not only celebrate the events but also to embody the character of the destinations that will host the games.
Zagnoli’s contribution, titled “Olympic Vision,” is a vibrant portrayal for the Winter Olympic Games scheduled from February 6-22, 2026. The poster prominently features a central figure peering through glasses shaped like Olympic rings, set against a backdrop of snowy mountain peaks. Zagnoli expressed that her design encapsulates the stylish essence of her hometown, Milan, while honoring the scenic beauty of Cortina. The artwork aims to celebrate both athletes and spectators.
In contrast, Altavilla’s untitled design for the Winter Paralympic Games, taking place from March 6-15, 2026, is a dynamic representation of all six Paralympic Winter sports. The poster bursts with movement, showcasing a vibrant clash of pinks, blues, and chartreuse. A silhouette of Milan’s iconic Duomo cathedral graces the foreground, while athletes are depicted under three curved symbols known as “Agitos,” which translates to “I move” in Latin.
These posters will be displayed prominently at the Triennale design museum in Milan, alongside the official torches for the Games. Smaller versions of the posters will be available for purchase at a price of 35 euros (approximately $41).
Earlier in the summer, the Milan-Cortina organizers also presented ten artistic posters created by a diverse group of five female and five male artists, which are currently on view at the Triennale. The unveiling of these posters marks another significant step in promoting the Winter Games, as anticipation builds for the events set to take place in early 2026.
