JD Vance and Jake Paul Enjoy U.S. Women’s Hockey Victory at Olympics

Vice President JD Vance and social media influencer and boxer Jake Paul attended the U.S. women’s hockey team’s match against Finland at the Milano Cortina Olympics on March 2, 2024. The U.S. team secured a decisive victory, winning the game 5-0. The duo watched the match together, with Vance arriving during the intermission after the first period, which saw the U.S. leading by a score of 1-0.

Paul joined Vance and his family shortly after their arrival. Significantly, Paul’s fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, is competing as a speedskater for the Netherlands in the same Olympic Games, adding a personal connection to the event. Vance, seated with his youngest child, daughter Mirabel, clapped enthusiastically as the crowd rallied around the U.S. team.

As the second period commenced, Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, donned a sweatshirt emblazoned with “USA” and joined the excitement, clapping along to the familiar anthem of Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” The atmosphere grew electric as the U.S. team scored several goals, prompting Vance and his family to stand in celebration each time.

Seated nearby were notable figures from the sports world, including Evan Lysacek, the 2010 Olympic figure skating gold medalist, and the twin sisters Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando, both of whom were integral to the U.S. gold medal-winning team at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

This event marked Vance’s second viewing of the U.S. women’s hockey team during the Milano Cortina Olympics. He previously attended the opening game at the Milano Rho Ice Hockey Arena, where the U.S. triumphed over Czechia with a score of 5-1 on February 29, 2024.

The Winter Olympics continue to showcase remarkable athletic performances, with Italy claiming its first gold medal of the Milano Cortina Games through an unexpected speedskating victory. As the games progress, athletes from various disciplines are making headlines, including skier Eileen Gu, who sported a uniquely personalized ski suit, and U.S. speedskater Greta Myers, who found out about her Olympic debut just hours before her race.

The atmosphere at the Milano Cortina Olympics captures the spirit of competition and camaraderie among athletes and spectators alike, as the world watches the unfolding drama of the games.
