Incyte Corporation has appointed Soni Basi as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, effective August 25. This strategic move aims to enhance the company’s global human resources strategy as it positions itself for future growth in the competitive biopharmaceutical sector.
Basi will join Incyte’s Executive Leadership Team, where she will oversee critical areas such as talent recruitment, organizational development, and professional training. Bill Meury, Incyte’s president and CEO, expressed confidence in Basi’s capabilities, stating, “Soni has extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of human resources. She is a skilled professional and collaborative leader who will bring a strategic mindset and operational focus to the company.”
Extensive Experience in Human Resources
Basi brings more than 25 years of experience in global human resources and organizational leadership. Before joining Incyte, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Edelman, leading a team of over 200 professionals. Her career also includes senior positions in global talent management at notable companies such as AIG, Allergan Pharmaceuticals, The Estée Lauder Companies, and Schering-Plough.
She holds both a master’s degree and a doctorate in social psychology from Bowling Green State University. Basi succeeds Paula Swain, who retired earlier this year after a long tenure at the company.
Commitment to Growth and Leadership
Incyte, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, has emphasized that Basi’s appointment is a reflection of its commitment to cultivating strong leadership and preparing for ongoing growth in the life sciences industry. The company is focused on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent to ensure its competitive edge.
The leadership change comes at a crucial time for Incyte as it navigates the complexities of the biopharmaceutical landscape. Basi’s wealth of experience is expected to play a significant role in shaping the company’s human resources policies and practices.
