Authorities have identified the man whose body was discovered along the Greenway in Grand Forks. Brandon Ruth, a 34-year-old resident of Grand Forks, was found by a passerby on January 14, 2024, according to a statement from the Grand Forks Police Department (GFPD).
The GFPD initially withheld Ruth’s identity while notifying family members. On the following day, they released his name to the public. The police’s first report indicated there were no signs of obvious trauma on the body.
Investigation Continues
The investigation into Ruth’s death is ongoing. Authorities have stated there is currently no indication of any threat to the public. The exact cause of death remains undetermined and is pending the results of a medical examination.
In their media report, the GFPD emphasized the need for thorough investigation, stating, “The investigation is still ongoing, but there is not believed to be any threat to the public.”
