Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Wilmington

Delaware State Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred in Wilmington, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old rider. The incident took place on August 10, 2025, at approximately 16:30 local time. The rider, identified as Zack Napolitano, was traveling northbound on Barley Mill Road when he entered the off-ramp leading to Kennett Pike.

According to authorities, Napolitano lost control of his Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle while negotiating a curve. The motorcycle struck a guardrail on the left side of the ramp, causing Napolitano to be ejected from the vehicle. Following the crash, emergency services transported him to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Tragically, Napolitano succumbed to his injuries on August 24, 2025. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

Ongoing Investigation and Call for Witnesses

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains active. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward.
