Delaware State Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred in Wilmington, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old rider. The incident took place on August 10, 2025, at approximately 16:30 local time. The rider, identified as Zack Napolitano, was traveling northbound on Barley Mill Road when he entered the off-ramp leading to Kennett Pike.
According to authorities, Napolitano lost control of his Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle while negotiating a curve. The motorcycle struck a guardrail on the left side of the ramp, causing Napolitano to be ejected from the vehicle. Following the crash, emergency services transported him to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Tragically, Napolitano succumbed to his injuries on August 24, 2025. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.
