Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has solidified its status as the busiest oneworld hub globally, bolstered by a record number of foreign long-haul carriers. While American Airlines dominates with approximately 84% of the airport’s flights, the addition of international alliance members enhances its connectivity and appeal. Notably, when focusing solely on long-haul services, Dallas ranks sixth among alliance airports, trailing London Heathrow, Doha, Hong Kong, Madrid, and New York JFK.
Royal Jordanian Joins in 2026
Beginning on May 10, 2026, Royal Jordanian will expand the airline’s offerings at Dallas/Fort Worth, marking its first service to Texas in 45 years. The carrier plans to operate four flights weekly using a two-class Boeing 787-8, featuring 24 business seats arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration and 246 economy seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Passengers traveling from the Western United States will have opportunities to connect seamlessly to Amman and other destinations in the Levant region.
In addition, Royal Jordanian’s fleet may include the larger Boeing 787-9, which is anticipated for delivery soon, potentially increasing capacity on this newly established route.
Expanding International Services
The growing presence of foreign long-haul oneworld carriers is evident as several airlines prepare to establish or resume flights to Dallas. British Airways plans its return in October 2025 after last operating flights in March 2025, switching to the Boeing 777-200ER instead of the A380. This move is part of a broader strategy, as the airline’s operations in the U.S. are projected to average 50 daily departures next summer.
Moreover, Cathay Pacific commenced its first passenger service to Dallas in April 2025, replacing American Airlines on the long route from Hong Kong, which had been in service until 2020. Other recent entrants include Finnair in March 2022, Iberia in June 2022, and Fiji Airways in December 2024, joining established carriers like Qatar Airways and Japan Airlines.
Data from Cirium Diio reveals that foreign long-haul oneworld operators will account for 20% of Dallas’s total long-haul services in 2025, the highest proportion recorded to date. This growth reflects a significant increase in the number of departures, with 2,433 scheduled for the full year, marking a 13% rise from the previous record in 2024.
Between May 10 and May 16, 2026, nine foreign long-haul alliance members are set to operate a total of 68 weekly departures from Dallas/Fort Worth, up from 56 in the same week of 2025. This increase showcases the expanding network and collaboration among oneworld members to enhance travel options for passengers.
As the aviation landscape continues to evolve, the expansion of international services at Dallas/Fort Worth is a testament to the airport’s strategic importance and the ongoing partnerships within the oneworld alliance.
