UPDATE: Wizards of the Coast has just announced exciting new developments for fans of Magic: The Gathering, revealing additional Final Fantasy and PlayStation crossover decks that are set to enhance gameplay and collector’s appeal. The unveiling took place during a panel at MagicCon Atlanta on December 5, where the company showcased a new suite of products that promises to captivate gamers and card collectors alike.
Starting with the much-anticipated Final Fantasy offerings, players can expect new Scene Boxes, the Chocobo Bundle, and the Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck at retailers. These products will hit shelves on December 5, featuring a variety of unique cards and collectible formats. The Scene Boxes will include three Play Boosters, while the Chocobo Bundle will come with ten, allowing players to experience a range of card formats including track foil and foil borderless.
The Scene Boxes will showcase stunning cover art from iconic titles, including “Children of Fate,” “Garland at the Chaos Shrine,” and “Camp Comrades,” representing Final Fantasy VII, the original Final Fantasy, and Final Fantasy XV. Additionally, each box includes a display easel to showcase the art cards. The Chocobo Bundle enhances gameplay with a themed click wheel to track life value, along with the chance to obtain special Chocobo-themed alternate art cards.
In a thrilling addition, the Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck features a new promo card, “Cloud, Midgard Mercenary,” depicting the beloved character in traditional foil format. This deck also includes a download code for the original Final Fantasy VII, further enriching the gaming experience for fans.
But that’s not all. Before the new Final Fantasy packs drop, Wizards of the Coast is set to launch a Secret Lair collaboration with PlayStation on October 27. This unique collection will feature cards themed around blockbuster franchises including Horizon, God of War, and The Last of Us. Notably, the collaboration focuses heavily on Naughty Dog’s titles, with multiple cards dedicated to The Last of Us and a selection for Uncharted. God of War will receive three cards, while Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima will each receive one.
The Secret Lair collaboration will be available in both foil and non-foil variants, ensuring that players can choose their preferred format.
