Warriors Waive Seth Curry, Expect Quick Return in November

UPDATE: The Golden State Warriors have officially waived guard Seth Curry, but expect him to return to the team within the next few weeks, potentially by early November 2023. This urgent move is a strategic necessity amid the team’s financial constraints under the new salary cap rules.

As the Warriors navigate a hard cap position just below the second apron, they are unable to maintain an additional veteran minimum contract on their roster until the start of the regular season. This leaves the team’s final roster spot vacant until Curry can rejoin the squad.

Seth Curry, younger brother of star guard Steph Curry, has been actively training at the Warriors’ facility and participated in the team’s recent October road trip. However, he has been inactive for the preseason games. Known for his impressive shooting, Seth boasts a remarkable record of 945 career three-pointers made at a stellar 43.3 percent efficiency, ranking him among the top shooters in NBA history.

This summer, Seth made the pivotal decision to join the Warriors, fulfilling a long-held dream of playing alongside his brother on an NBA stage. Despite this procedural waiver, the plan for his return remains intact, promising an exciting reunion for the Curry brothers.

The decision to waive Curry underscores the ongoing challenges teams face in managing their rosters under strict salary cap regulations. Fans are left eager for updates on his return, which could significantly impact the Warriors’ performance in the coming season.

Stay tuned for more developments as the Warriors prepare for the upcoming season and hope to bring Seth back into the fold soon. This situation remains fluid, and any changes will be reported immediately.
