URGENT UPDATE: Verizon wireless users are experiencing significant service disruptions as of January 14, 2023. Reports indicate that over 180,152 customers have faced issues with both voice and data services. The outage is impacting users across multiple states including Alabama, New York, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, creating widespread frustration among those reliant on the network for connectivity.
According to data from Downdetector, the peak of the outage saw 62% of reports related to mobile phone service, 34% indicating no signal, and 4% experiencing mobile internet failures. Customers attempting to access Verizon’s website for account management are also reporting difficulties, with many unable to log in or utilize the “Check network status” tool, which appears to be down.
In an official statement on social media platform X, Verizon acknowledged the ongoing situation. “We are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data services for some customers,” the company stated. “Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly. We understand how important reliable connectivity is and apologize for the inconvenience.”
As of 12:45 p.m. today, the number of outage reports has decreased, with 112,657 users still experiencing disruptions nationwide. Despite the drop in reported issues, many customers remain unable to reach Verizon’s technical support by phone, with calls met by a message stating that calls cannot go through at this time.
This outage is particularly concerning for individuals who depend on Verizon for their daily communications and work-related activities. As the situation develops, customers are urged to remain patient while Verizon’s team works to restore services.
For immediate assistance, users can attempt to reach Verizon technical support at (800) 922-0204. However, given the current circumstances, wait times may be extended as support personnel manage the influx of calls.
Stay tuned for further updates as Verizon strives to resolve these issues promptly.
