Vallejo Police Investigate Fatal Bicycle Collision on Sunday

UPDATE: A tragic bicycle collision in Vallejo has resulted in the death of an adult male, prompting an urgent investigation by the Vallejo Police Department. The fatal incident occurred on January 14, 2026, at approximately 6:17 PM, on the 1100 block of Monterey Street.

Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel found the victim suffering from critical injuries indicative of a bicycle accident. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene. This marks the first fatal traffic collision investigated by the Vallejo Police this year, heightening concerns about road safety in the area.

Preliminary findings from the Vallejo Police Department Traffic Division indicate that the collision involved only the solo bicyclist, who reportedly lost control of his bicycle. There were no other vehicles involved in the incident, according to the current investigation.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office. The police are awaiting toxicology results as the investigation continues.
