KEANSBURG, New Jersey — A dramatic rescue unfolded just after 10 a.m. on Friday when first responders bravely saved three children from a raging house fire on Seeley Avenue. As flames engulfed the home, smoke billowed out of the windows, and the children were spotted desperately trying to escape.
Upon arrival, police officers quickly assessed the situation and rushed to the upper floors where the children were trapped. “I actually was standing there watching my officers catch three young juveniles, and they did a great job. I’m thankful that the juveniles are OK,” said Deputy Chief Bryan King of the Keansburg Police Department.
The scene was chaotic as responders battled heavy smoke conditions, complicating their efforts to reach the children. Fire crews eventually entered the building and began extinguishing the fire, but the situation was dire. One officer sustained an arm injury while helping to catch the children as they were brought to safety.
An adult woman found inside the home was transported to the hospital; her condition remains unknown at this time. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and officials are working diligently to uncover what sparked the flames.
This incident highlights the heroism of local first responders and the urgency of fire safety awareness in our communities. Authorities will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available regarding the fire’s cause and the condition of the hospitalized woman.
