UPDATE: Lane closures are set to impact traffic on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove next week as PennDOT initiates critical roadway reconstruction. Motorists should prepare for significant travel disruptions from January 12 to January 16, 2024.
Authorities confirm that lane closures will occur on westbound U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Hanover Street interchanges from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Eastbound traffic will also face restrictions, with closures in effect between the Hanover Street and Sanatoga interchanges from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the same period.
Motorists are urged to allow extra time for their commutes, as substantial backups and delays are expected in the affected areas. This construction is part of a larger $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing and improving approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway, which includes bridge replacements between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
All activities are subject to weather conditions, meaning that plan adjustments may be necessary. This vital infrastructure upgrade is essential for enhancing safety and traffic flow in the region.
