Urgent Bug in Windows 11: Task Manager Creates Clones

URGENT UPDATE: A critical bug in Windows 11 is causing the Task Manager to multiply unexpectedly, creating multiple instances every time one is closed. Users are reporting that clicking the “X” button to exit the Task Manager results in new Task Managers spawning in the background, leading to potential performance issues.

NEW REPORTS CONFIRM that this glitch, identified by Windows Latest, manifests particularly in the latest build of Windows 11. Each time the Task Manager is closed, up to 100 instances can be generated, with each consuming approximately 20-25 MB of RAM. For users with limited hardware, this can quickly escalate to nearly 2 GB of RAM usage, significantly slowing down performance.

If you find yourself frequently utilizing the Task Manager, it’s crucial to be aware of this developing issue. Users who close the Task Manager without caution may inadvertently flood their system with copies, impacting overall functionality. Windows Latest conducted a test, where simply opening and closing the Task Manager 100 times led to the creation of an overwhelming number of instances.

To mitigate this bug, experts recommend a couple of solutions. Users can navigate to the Processes tab, select the rogue Task Manager instance, and click “End task” to shut it down without creating further copies. Alternatively, for those comfortable with command line operations, entering taskkill /im taskmgr.exe /f in the Command Prompt will terminate all instances immediately.

While this bug is not universal and may not affect all users, those who frequently use the Task Manager should check for any unwanted processes running in the background. As this issue unfolds, affected users should monitor their system performance closely.

Stay updated for further developments regarding this urgent bug in Windows 11. Keep your devices running smoothly and avoid the headache of unnecessary Task Manager instances!
