Urgent Alert: Active Shooter Reported at Villanova University

UPDATE: Villanova University has issued an urgent alert for an active shooter on its Pennsylvania campus this afternoon. Authorities are on the scene, with students advised to avoid the area surrounding Law School Scarpa Hall as police respond to the situation.

Students received an urgent notification instructing them to “move to secure locations” and to “lock/barricade doors.” The message, posted on the university’s website, emphasized the need to remain sheltered in place until further notice.

The Radnor Township Police Department confirmed their presence at the university, actively searching the area for the suspect. “Police continue to search area. Remain sheltered in place until further notice,” the department stated on social media.

Officials are urging all nearby residents and students to “SHELTER IN PLACE AT this time,” reinforcing the need for immediate safety precautions. Villanova University is located approximately 12 miles northwest of Philadelphia’s Center City.

This alarming incident is unfolding rapidly, with local law enforcement coordinating a thorough investigation. Students and faculty are advised to stay tuned for updates as officials work to resolve the situation.
