UPDATE: Americans are on alert as checks worth up to $5,100 are set to be distributed soon from a $6.5 million data breach settlement involving Omni Family Health. This urgent payout follows a class action lawsuit against the prominent nonprofit health care organization, which has been accused of inadequate cybersecurity measures that led to a significant data breach in 2024.
The breach reportedly exposed sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers, of patients and employees. While Omni Family Health has not acknowledged any wrongdoing, the settlement is a direct response to the allegations.
DEADLINE ALERT: Potential claimants must act quickly, as the deadline to file a claim is approaching on January 5, 2026. To be eligible, individuals must be U.S. residents whose information was compromised during the breach, which Omni Family Health confirmed on August 7, 2024. Notably, California residents during this time may qualify for higher payouts.
Those who received a personalized notice via mail or email from the settlement will need to include their specific ID and Confirmation Code when submitting claims online or through traditional mail. The claims can be filed at the settlement website or sent to the settlement administrator at 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
PAYMENT DETAILS: Cash amounts will vary based on eligibility and documentation. California residents who provide proof of out-of-pocket losses can claim the full $5,100, while those without documentation will receive a pro rata cash fund payment currently estimated at around $205.56. Non-California residents may receive up to $5,000 or an estimated $105.56 if they lack supporting documents.
A critical hearing for final approval of the Omni Family Health settlement is scheduled for February 26, 2026, with payments expected to be disbursed shortly thereafter.
In addition to this settlement, dental patients are urged to act quickly for a separate $1.2 million data breach settlement, which could yield up to $6,000 per claimant, with a filing deadline of January 28, 2026.
As the clock ticks, affected individuals must ensure they are prepared to submit their claims and receive their rightful compensation. Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
