URGENT UPDATE: A 16-year-old motorcyclist has been airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse following a serious crash in Paris, NY earlier today. The incident occurred around noon at the intersection of Oneida Street and Route 8, where the young rider collided with a car.
Authorities from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office report that the teenager was riding eastbound on Oneida Street when he failed to yield at a stop sign. His 2024 Taro motorcycle crashed into the front of a 2009 Volkswagen, driven by Susan Carney, 62, of West Winfield. The impact was significant enough to warrant immediate air transport.
According to deputies, the teen suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was quickly airlifted by Mercy Flight helicopter to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, Carney was not injured in the crash.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
