United Way of Greater Hazleton Unveils 2025-2026 Board of Directors

BREAKING NEWS: The United Way of Greater Hazleton just announced its board of directors for the 2025-2026 term during a vibrant campaign celebration breakfast held at Four Blooms restaurant in Drums, Pennsylvania on July 22, 2025. This pivotal announcement underscores the organization’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community welfare.

The United Way of Greater Hazleton is a vital nonprofit working tirelessly to support the region’s most vulnerable populations. With initiatives like the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, the organization promotes early literacy for underprivileged children. Additionally, they are pivotal in offering two back-to-school readiness programs and maintaining a nurse’s pantry that supplies essential hygiene items to children in need throughout the Hazleton Area School District.

In a statement, Interim CEO Jennifer Sordoni emphasized the importance of community involvement: “We are dedicated to improving lives in the Greater Hazleton community. Our new board members bring invaluable experience and passion, which will enhance our mission even further.”

The United Way also supports ten other nonprofit agencies in the Greater Hazleton area, amplifying their impact on local families and children. Their efforts are crucial, especially as many families face increased challenges in accessing education and basic hygiene products.
