Trump Calls Greene “Low IQ Traitor” After CBS Interview Fallout

UPDATE: President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on former ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene via Truth Social, branding her a “low IQ traitor” following her critical remarks during a 60 Minutes interview that aired just hours ago. Greene, once a staunch supporter of Trump, accused him of abandoning his base and failing to uphold his “America First” agenda.

In the October 2023 interview, Greene revealed that Trump’s comments about her have triggered serious threats against her and her family, stating, “The subject line for the direct death threats on my son was his words: ‘Marjorie Traitor Greene.'” She emphasized that these threats were “directly fueled by President Trump,” drawing a direct line between his rhetoric and the peril she faces.

Trump responded with a series of inflammatory posts, claiming Greene’s shift in attitude was due to her being “JILTED” by him and referring to her as “washed up.” He also criticized the CBS network and its parent company, Paramount, for allowing the segment to air, stating, “Since they bought it, 60 Minutes has actually gotten WORSE!”

The fallout from this public feud escalates as Greene prepares to resign from Congress before her term ends. Once a reliable ally, she voted with Trump 98% of the time, but her relationship with him has deteriorated, particularly following controversies surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.

In her resignation announcement, Greene criticized Trump’s focus on outside issues, including his support for the crypto and pharmaceutical industries, while domestic concerns took a back seat. The tension reached a boiling point as she relayed details of a bomb threat at her home following Trump’s comments.

During the 60 Minutes interview, Greene did not shy away from challenging the culture of fear among Republican lawmakers, declaring, “I think they’re terrified to step outta line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them.” She openly acknowledged that her past incendiary rhetoric contributed to the toxic political environment, but she also pushed back against accusations of incivility in her exchanges with the media.

As this political drama unfolds, the implications for Trump and Greene are significant. Greene’s allegations raise concerns about the safety and well-being of public figures amidst political discourse. With the midterm elections approaching, her resignation and the escalating feud could additionally shift dynamics within the Republican Party.

The world watches closely as Trump and Greene navigate this public rift, which not only impacts their political futures but also resonates deeply with their supporters. What will be the next move in this fast-evolving saga? Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
