Trudys Bridal Shop Set to Open New Location in San Jose

UPDATE: Trudys Brides and Special Occasions is preparing to unveil its brand-new store in San Jose, marking a significant move after nearly 50 years at The Pruneyard shopping center in Campbell. The bridal shop has leased a former Walgreens site, spanning 13,300 square feet, located at 1615 Meridian Ave. in Willow Glen. The grand opening is scheduled for September 5 or September 6, 2023.

Owner Steven Blechman, son of the late founders Roger and Trudy Blechman, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are going to have full visibility for the first time for our store.” This fresh start presents Trudys with ample opportunities to attract customers from across the region, with reports indicating that clientele travel from as far as Monterey and Sacramento for the unique offerings available.

In recent days, crews have been hard at work inside the new venue, ensuring it is ready for brides-to-be. Geri Wong, a commercial real estate broker involved in the leasing deal, emphasized the store’s significance, saying, “Trudys is a regional draw, and they are going to do great at this location.”

While parking could pose a challenge, Wong believes the mix of tenants in the retail center will mitigate potential issues. The transition from the Campbell location, which provided 10,000 square feet over two levels, will allow Trudys to expand its operations significantly. Blechman highlighted that the new site offers greater flexibility for hosting events, including fashion shows, exclusive previews, and in-store designer boutiques.

“We are going to really celebrate the next chapter of our business with this new location,” Blechman said. He added that their new landlord is supportive, contributing to a strong sense of community in Willow Glen.

With this exciting move, Trudys aims to continue its legacy as a beloved destination for brides. As preparations ramp up, customers are eagerly anticipating the opening of a store that promises to enhance the wedding shopping experience.

Stay tuned for more updates as Trudys Brides and Special Occasions gears up for its new beginning in San Jose!
