Tina Turner’s Son Ike Turner Jr. Dies One Day After Birthday

URGENT UPDATE: Ike Turner Jr., the son of legendary musicians Tina Turner and Ike Turner, has tragically passed away at the age of 67, just one day after his birthday. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his cousin, Jacqueline Bullock, through a heartfelt statement earlier today.

Bullock expressed her grief, stating, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my cousin, Ike Turner Jr.” She reflected on their close bond, describing him as more than a cousin, but a brother. “We grew up in the same famed household together,” she added.

As the son of iconic musicians, Turner Jr. showcased his musical talent from an early age. Initially drawn to the drums, his mother, Tina, encouraged him to explore a variety of instruments, leading him to eventually favor the keys. He played a pivotal role at Bolic Sound Studios, the recording studio founded by his father, Ike Turner.

Bullock highlighted Turner Jr.’s impressive career, noting his achievements as a sought-after sound engineer and musician. He was honored with a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2007 for his father’s album, Risin’ With The Blues.

In her statement, Bullock thanked family, friends, and fans for the “outpouring of condolences” during this difficult time and requested privacy for the family as they mourn their loss.

This news comes as a significant shock to many fans and followers of the Turner legacy, and the music community is mourning the loss of an influential figure. As details continue to emerge, this story is still developing.
