UPDATE: A federal grand jury has indicted three women for allegedly stalking a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent and livestreaming the pursuit to their social media followers. The indictment, announced on Friday, comes amid alarming reports of escalating violence against ICE personnel.
The trio—Cynthia Raygoza, 37, from Riverside, California; Ashleigh Brown, 38, from Aurora, Colorado; and Sandra Carmona Samane, 25, from Panorama City, California—faces serious charges of conspiracy and publicly disclosing the personal information of a federal agent. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to five years in federal prison.
On August 28, the women allegedly followed the ICE agent from his workplace in downtown Los Angeles, broadcasting live on Instagram accounts such as “ice_out_of_la” and “corn_maiden_design.” The indictment details how they encouraged their viewers to share the livestream while providing directions for the chase.
Once they reached the agent’s home, the women shouted inflammatory statements to nearby residents, claiming, “Your neighbor is ICE!” They then posted the agent’s address online with a provocative invitation: “Come on down.”
Authorities have confirmed that Brown and Samane were arrested following the incident. Brown remains in custody without bond, facing additional charges for allegedly assaulting a federal officer. Samane has been released on a $5,000 bond. Their arraignments are scheduled for September 30 and October 9, respectively. Raygoza, however, is still at large.
Acting U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, condemned the actions of the defendants. “Our brave federal agents put their lives on the line every day to keep our nation safe,” he stated. “If you threaten, dox, or harm in any manner one of our agents or employees, you will face prosecution and prison time.”
This indictment emerges at a time of heightened tension for ICE agents. Recent data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed that attacks on ICE personnel have surged by 830% since January. Just days prior, an incident in Dallas resulted in the tragic death of one detainee and injuries to two others when a gunman opened fire at an ICE facility.
As this story develops, the implications of the indictment and the broader context of violence against federal agents remain critical. Readers are urged to stay tuned for updates on the arraignments and additional details surrounding this urgent case.
