Three men from Lauderhill, Florida, have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a teenager in Oakland Park. The victim, Ammon Watson, aged 18, was shot in the driveway of a home on Northwest 28th Street shortly before midnight on August 24, 2024.
According to investigators with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), the incident unfolded when an unknown assailant approached Watson and shot him before fleeing the scene on foot. The BSO Homicide Unit, alongside the Violent Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response (V.I.P.E.R.), launched an investigation that identified three suspects in the case.
The suspects have been named as Ta’Narine Hamilton, 18, Khalil Elie, 22, and Morris King Jr., 19, all residents of Lauderhill. Authorities confirmed that Hamilton was already in custody prior to the announcement of the arrests. Elie was apprehended on June 16, while King was taken into custody on Thursday.
All three individuals face a charge of one count of first-degree felony murder in connection to the incident.
