URGENT UPDATE: A brazen thief posing as a customer has stolen approximately $10,000 worth of luxury merchandise from Qualité Los Angeles, a high-end clothing store in Glendale, California. The theft occurred on November 7, 2025, and surveillance footage reveals the suspect executing a calculated plan to escape with valuable items.
The incident unfolded in Kenneth Village, a bustling shopping area known for its family-friendly atmosphere. Surveillance cameras captured a young male suspect entering the store, engaging with the manager, Anthony Montes, and browsing the merchandise for nearly 20 minutes. Montes recounted that the thief built a rapport by asking about shoe sizes and other items, making his eventual theft all the more shocking.
Just as Montes stepped into a backroom, the suspect seized the opportunity. He swiftly grabbed a rack full of luxury-branded hoodies and a Pikachu plush toy before dashing out to a getaway car waiting outside. Montes stated, “I heard the rustling of the plastic protectors for our clothes. I came back out and he was gone.”
Montes expressed disbelief over the theft, especially since Qualité Los Angeles had only opened its doors three months prior. “It really sucks because the owner and I are trying to build a relationship with the community,” he said, highlighting the emotional toll of the crime on a new business.
The suspect is described as a young Asian male, possibly aged 18 to 25, standing around 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build and wearing eyeglasses. As the thief remains at large, Montes and the shop owner are concerned he may target other local businesses.
The Glendale Police Department is actively investigating the incident. Authorities urge anyone with information about the suspect or the theft to reach out at (818) 548-4911.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities local businesses face, even in seemingly safe areas. As investigations continue, the community is on high alert, hoping for the swift apprehension of the suspect before further thefts occur.
