UPDATE: In a thrilling college basketball clash, Texas A&M narrowly defeated Montana 86-81 on November 14, 2023, after a dramatic late-game rally from the Grizzlies.
Texas A&M dominated early, leading by double digits for much of the game. However, Montana staged a furious comeback, cutting a significant deficit to just one point in the final moments. With just nine seconds left on the clock, Money Williams spearheaded the Grizzlies’ charge, scoring 17 points and sinking four critical three-pointers during a stunning 26-8 run.
The Aggies, now 3-2 for the season, were able to secure the win by converting 5 of 6 free throws in the closing seconds and forcing a turnover, showcasing their resilience under pressure. Rylan Griffen led Texas A&M with 17 points, supported by Rashaun Agee’s double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Montana, now 4-2, had a strong performance from Williams, who ended with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting and contributed seven assists. Brooklyn Hicks and Tyler Isaak also made significant contributions, scoring 18 and 13 points, respectively.
Despite a scorching first half where Texas A&M shot 71% from the field and 6 of 11 from beyond the arc, the team’s performance cooled significantly after halftime, shooting just 40% overall and 1 of 12 from three-point range.
