Stephen Curry Reveals Influence on NBA, Reflects on 2016 Game 7

BREAKING: Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has opened up about his profound influence on the NBA during a riveting podcast discussion with LeBron James and Steve Nash. This urgent revelation highlights Curry’s awareness of his impact on the next generation of players, particularly Trae Young, who he identifies as a reflection of his own transformative style.

In the latest episode of the “Mind the Game” podcast, Curry candidly stated, “When Trae Young came into the league, that was the first person they said was like the ‘next’ me.” This statement underscores the magnitude of Curry’s legacy as he considers how his unique playing style has inspired a wave of young talent.

The discussion took a humorous turn when Curry recalled a comment from his former coach Mark Jackson, who once claimed on ESPN that Curry “ruined the game” because of young players imitating his long-range shooting. “What Mark didn’t realize is he ruined the league, too,” James quipped, emphasizing how the game has evolved dramatically to incorporate three-point shooting.

Nash pointed out a pivotal moment in Curry’s career: his leap from 646 three-point attempts in the 2014-15 season to an astonishing 886 in 2015-16. “From one season to the next, 200 3s attempted. Then, the league followed,” Nash noted, highlighting the ripple effect of Curry’s shooting prowess across the NBA.

Curry attributed much of this evolution to his former general manager Bob Myers, who encouraged him to take more shots. “Bob Myers was the first one to tell me, ‘You should shoot 15 3s a game,'” Curry recalled. “The math says 15 3s for you is great.” This mindset has undoubtedly transformed team strategies league-wide.

The episode also featured nostalgic moments as Nash shared a story about a preseason game where he realized Curry had surpassed him in skill, marking a poignant moment in their careers. The podcast culminated in a film breakdown of the iconic 2016 NBA Finals Game 7, where Curry and the Warriors faced off against James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The trio analyzed key plays and strategies, foreshadowing a deeper dive into James’ highlights in an upcoming episode.

Curry’s reflections not only emphasize his personal journey but also illustrate the significant changes in how basketball is played today. As he remarked while reviewing old footage, “This is the happiest I’ve ever been watching this game.” The emotional weight of these discussions reveals not just Curry’s legacy but also the collective evolution of the sport.

Don’t miss out on this engaging conversation, now available on YouTube. Stay tuned for the second part of their insightful dialogue, set to release soon.

What’s next? As the NBA season progresses, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely how Curry’s influence continues to shape the game and the new generation of players it inspires.
