UPDATE: The 2025 Beacon-News/Courier-News Girls Volleyball All-Area Team has been unveiled, showcasing standout performances from players across the region, with four exceptional talents from St. Charles North leading the charge. This announcement, made just hours ago, underscores the remarkable achievements in local girls’ volleyball, capturing the attention of fans and scouts alike.
The highlight of the team is Haley Burgdorf, a senior outside hitter from St. Charles North, boasting an astounding 435 kills this season. Burgdorf’s impressive stats also include 198 digs, 52 aces, and 23 blocks. Her accolades are significant: she is a First Team All-State selection and an Under Armor All-American, further solidifying her reputation as a top-tier player. Burgdorf has committed to Penn State, promising a bright future ahead.
Another standout, Camryn Boyd from South Elgin, made waves as a freshman outside hitter, leading her team with 291 kills alongside 178 digs, 35 aces, and 24 blocks. Her talent earned her honorable mention all-state and all-conference honors, marking her as a player to watch in the coming years.
Next on the list is Rylie Carlson, a sophomore from Newark, who also made the First Team All-State with 262 kills and 214 digs. Her contributions have been vital to her team’s success this season, showcasing her rising talent on the court.
The All-Area Team also recognizes Paige Genke, a senior setter from South Elgin, who recorded 579 assists this season and has amassed a staggering 1,536 career assists. Genke’s leadership on the court has earned her the title of Team MVP and a commitment to D’Youville.
Other notable players include Hannah Herrick from Oswego, who earned Second Team All-State honors with 326 kills and 256 digs, and Elizabeth King from Hampshire, who surpassed 1,000 career kills this season.
