URGENT UPDATE: The Springfield Public School concert choir, directed by Bailey Cords, has just been invited to perform at the prestigious Minnesota Music Education Association annual convention on February 13, 2024, at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This significant recognition celebrates the choir’s exceptional talent and commitment to music education, under the theme: Rise Together in Song – Celebrating Music Education in a Rural Community.
This invitation marks a triumphant return for the choir, which previously enjoyed similar acclaim in 1993. The news is a testament to the dedication of both the students and their director, who have worked tirelessly to promote music within their rural community.
In other notable academic achievements, Brenden Paul Humbard, a graduate from Iowa State University, has earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science. His hard work and commitment to education have been recognized among the fall graduates from the university located in Ames, Iowa.
Additionally, Catherine Cummings from Mankato has made the fall dean’s list at Northern Illinois University. This prestigious honor is awarded to students who achieve a minimum semester GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, showcasing her academic excellence.
Also achieving high honors, Saige Isaacson from New Ulm has been named to the president’s list of high distinction for the fall term at Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin. To qualify, students must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher while carrying six or more credits in their associate’s degree or technical diploma program.
Lastly, Emily Frutos Krueger from Mankato has been recognized on both the dean’s list and president’s list at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. The dean’s list honors students with a GPA of at least 3.0, while the president’s list highlights those who achieve a stellar GPA of 3.75 or higher.
