UPDATE: Samsung has just announced the launch of its new Galaxy S25 FE, priced at $650, a significant $350 less than the Galaxy S25+. This latest device, revealed at IFA 2025, offers a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers seeking premium features without the premium price tag.
The Galaxy S25 FE features a 6.7-inch display and retains many elements of its more expensive counterparts, including a solid FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. However, this model sacrifices some capabilities, including processing power and camera quality, to achieve its lower price point.
Instead of the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Galaxy S25 FE runs on the less powerful Exynos 2400 chip. Additionally, it comes with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB, compared to the 12GB RAM found in the Galaxy S25 and S25+. It’s important to note the camera specifications as well; while it retains the 50-megapixel main and 12-megapixel ultrawide cameras, it features an 8-megapixel telephoto instead of the 10-megapixel option with 3x optical zoom.
The 4,900mAh battery remains unchanged, supporting wireless charging but notably lacking the new Qi2 standard. Wired charging is capped at 45W, which is still quick enough for users in a rush.
Available for order starting today, September 4, the Galaxy S25 FE comes in four colors: Icyblue, Jetblack, Navy, and White.
Samsung’s strategy with the Fan Edition is clear: cater to those who desire premium features without the hefty price. While this phone may not appeal to everyone, it fills a crucial gap in the market, especially for price-sensitive buyers.
As the tech world waits to see how this launch impacts sales, Samsung continues to innovate, ensuring there is a model for every type of consumer. Expect to see discussions around the Galaxy S25 FE heating up as early adopters share their experiences and feedback in the coming days.
Keep an eye on the latest trends in smartphone technology as the market evolves with upcoming models like the Galaxy S25 Edge and the anticipated iPhone 17.
