The victim, identified as Julie Gard Schnuelle, 59, was found dead in Kiesel Park after police received a report of “a deceased person” around 10:17 AM. The Auburn Police Department confirmed that Schnuelle suffered injuries consistent with an assault during a robbery.
According to court documents, Dabney allegedly stole Schnuelle’s red Ford F-150 pickup truck following the murder. Police later recovered the vehicle. Authorities arrested Dabney around 8:30 AM on Sunday, approximately five miles from the park, responding to a report of a “suspicious person.” Officers noted evidence linking him to the homicide during their interaction.
