UPDATE: A lovable rescue dog named Laina has just been crowned Pet of the Week by Newsweek, capturing hearts with her charming obsession with laundry baskets. This recognition comes as we kick off National Dog Month, a time dedicated to celebrating our furry companions.
Owner Patti Generale shared Laina’s amusing antics with Newsweek, detailing her unique habit of lounging in laundry baskets. “You can almost always find her sitting in one,” Generale explained. Laina’s playful spirit and food-loving personality have brought immense joy to her family, making her a cherished member of the household.
In addition to Laina, this week’s finalists also showcase remarkable pets. Among them are Harvey and Coco, two 7-year-old Cavachons owned by Vicki Peacock. These delightful pups, who hail from the same litter, are known for their sweet nature and penchant for mischief. “Harvey thinks he’s much bigger than he is,” Peacock said, emphasizing how they provide companionship and laughter in her life.
Another finalist, Daisy, a 1-year-old mix of Rottweiler and Siberian husky, is affectionately dubbed a “Rotten Rottsky” by her owner, Karen Garcia. Daisy’s humorous and dominating personality has kept her owner entertained, proving that every day with her is an adventure.
Finally, Pierre, a playful French bulldog nearing his first birthday, is recognized as a source of constant joy for owner Jamie High. Despite his mischievous nature, High expresses deep gratitude for the emotional support Pierre has provided during tough times.
As we celebrate these heartwarming stories, pet owners are encouraged to submit their own stories and images for a chance to be featured in next week’s lineup. If your pet could be the next Pet of the Week, send your submissions to [email protected].
