Regina Hall & Anna Faris Confirmed for Scary Movie 6 Reboot

BREAKING: Regina Hall and Anna Faris are officially back for the highly anticipated Scary Movie 6, set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026. This confirmation comes as the horror-comedy franchise makes a thrilling comeback, following the resurgence of other iconic series like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Hall and Faris, who portrayed the beloved characters Brenda and Cindy throughout the series—except in the fifth installment—are ecstatic to reunite. “We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn, and Marlon—three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” the actresses stated in an exclusive interview with Deadline.

The return of Hall and Faris is not the only exciting news. The Wayans brothers, who originally created the franchise, are co-writing the script alongside Rick Alvarez. Directing this new chapter is Michael Tiddes, a frequent collaborator with the Wayans. This reunion marks the first time the Wayans have been involved since Scary Movie 2, released in 2001.

With horror evolving dramatically over the past few years, Scary Movie 6 is expected to take aim at the recent trends in the genre, including “elevated horror.” Expect sharp parodies of popular filmmakers like Jordan Peele, Zach Cregger, and Oz Perkins as the franchise aims to bring audiences a fresh take on the genre’s tropes.

The announcement has already sparked excitement among fans eager for the return of the series that defined the spoof genre. The blend of nostalgia and a new comedic approach promises to deliver a film that resonates with both longtime fans and a new generation of horror enthusiasts.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the film’s release. This is a developing story, and fans of the franchise are encouraged to share the news as they anticipate the hilarious chaos that Scary Movie 6 is sure to unleash!
