New VenaSeal Procedure Offers Rapid Relief for Varicose Veins

BREAKING: A revolutionary new procedure for treating varicose veins is now available in Oklahoma, providing patients with quick and effective relief. Patients can expect to be in and out of the clinic in about 20 minutes, a significant improvement over traditional methods that required longer recovery times.

Oklahoma City is at the forefront of this medical advancement, with the procedure being offered at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. Former chef Andrew Marsh, who suffered from severe varicose veins, shared his transformative experience. “It feels like broken glass pushing through your veins,” he expressed, highlighting the pain many endure.

Dr. Parker Truong of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital explained how prolonged standing, especially in hot kitchens, exacerbates varicose veins. “Blood flows the wrong way, causing pain and discomfort,” he stated. The new treatment, called VenaSeal, developed by Medtronic, utilizes a catheter and ultrasound to seal the problematic veins with a special adhesive.

Patients first undergo an ultrasound to assess the severity of their condition. Should they require treatment, Dr. Truong described the VenaSeal process: “We numb the incision site and use ultrasound to guide the catheter. We then inject tiny droplets of glue into the vein, causing it to close within 10 to 30 seconds.”

For Marsh, the results were immediate and life-changing. After his procedure in 2023 for one leg and again in 2024 for the other, he reported significant improvements in his quality of life. “I’ve lost about 60 pounds and returned to the gym after a decade. I even completed my first 5k recently!” he shared, emphasizing the positive impact the treatment has had on his life.

Marsh urges others suffering from similar issues to seek medical advice. “The worst they can say is no. But the best is you can get your life back,” he advised. Dr. Truong reassures that if the VenaSeal technique does not yield the desired results, further treatment options are available.

With the introduction of VenaSeal, patients in Oklahoma can expect a more efficient, less invasive approach to managing varicose veins, significantly improving their daily lives. This breakthrough method is set to change the landscape of varicose vein treatment, making relief accessible to more people than ever before.
