BREAKING: The Los Angeles Lakers have just announced that Natalia Bryant, daughter of the late Kobe Bryant, is the creative director for their electrifying preseason hype video titled “Forever Iconic: Purple and Gold Always.” This exciting reveal comes just days before the Lakers’ regular season opener against the Golden State Warriors on October 21.
In a star-studded production, Bryant collaborated with notable figures including Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, Lakers legend Magic Johnson, and actor and passionate Lakers fan Brenda Song. Celebrity jacket designer Jeff Hamilton also made a special appearance in the video, amplifying the star power.
The video features memorable moments, including Song’s humorous recreation of a viral meme where LeBron James exclaims, “it’s our ball, ain’t it?” Additionally, NBA star Luka Doncic is seen shouting “Kobe” while executing a stepback move to toss a towel into a trash can. As the video nears its conclusion, Johnson holds the iconic Larry O’Brien Trophy, proclaiming, “It’s Showtime, baby,” a nod to the Lakers’ glorious history.
Bryant honored her father’s legacy by including a clip of his legendary game-winning shot against the Phoenix Suns during the 2006 NBA playoffs. On Instagram, Natalia expressed her gratitude, stating it was “such an honor” to be part of the project, adding, “Lakers family forever” in her heartfelt caption.
With her recent graduation from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts in May, Bryant is making significant strides in her creative career. Earlier this August, she also featured in a Nike commercial alongside New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson to promote the Kobe 3 Protro sneakers.
As excitement builds for the Lakers’ season opener, fans are eagerly sharing the hype video on social media platforms, generating buzz around this new chapter in the franchise’s history.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Lakers gear up for what promises to be an exhilarating season!
