UPDATE: The highly anticipated live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon is now available for streaming, following a successful box office run that grossed $198 million globally. Viewers can now watch the film online in stunning 4K Ultra HD, as it roars into home theaters across multiple platforms.

Released in theaters on June 13, 2025, this adaptation of the beloved animated classic features Mason Thames as Hiccup, alongside a star-studded cast including Gerard Butler and Nico Parker. The film is currently available for rent at $19.99 or for purchase at $29.99 on Apple TV, Prime Video, and other premium video-on-demand (PVOD) services.

Viewers looking to stream the film on Peacock will need to wait until October 2025, when it is expected to be available on the NBCUniversal-owned platform. This follows the trend of previous releases such as The Wild Robot, which appeared on Peacock approximately four months after its theatrical debut.

For those considering a subscription, Peacock will increase its prices by $3 per month for new customers starting July 23 and for existing subscribers on August 22. The most economical way to secure current rates is by opting for an annual plan at $79.99 for the ad-supported Premium package or $139.99 for the ad-free Premium Plus tier.

For viewers seeking to access Peacock for free, a membership to Instacart+ offers a unique workaround. At $99 per year, Instacart+ includes the ad-supported Peacock Premium plan, allowing subscribers to enjoy the streaming service at no additional cost.

In addition to the live-action film, fans can explore the original How to Train Your Dragon animated trilogy, which includes two sequels released in 2014 and 2019. All three films are available for streaming on Peacock or can be purchased as a bundle on major platforms like Apple TV and Prime Video.

The new film will also be available on physical media, with DVD and Blu-ray releases set for August 12, 2025. Pre-orders for the disc versions, including 4K UHD, are currently open for fans eager to own a copy.

As excitement builds around this latest installment in the franchise, now is the perfect time to dive into the thrilling world of Vikings and dragons. Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of How to Train Your Dragon and share this news with fellow fans!
