UPDATE: Karma Automotive has just unveiled the interior of its highly anticipated Amaris coupe, revealing a stunning design geared for luxury and technology. This announcement comes just ahead of the car’s public debut at Monterey Car Week in August 2023, heightening excitement among car enthusiasts and potential buyers alike.
The Amaris is not just another electric vehicle; it boasts an impressive 708 horsepower generated by a pair of electric motors paired with a turbocharged four-cylinder generator and a 41.5-kilowatt-hour battery. This powerful combination propels the coupe from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 3.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 165 mph. Additionally, the Amaris can travel up to 100 miles on electric power alone, extending its range to over 400 miles when utilizing the generator.
Inside, the Amaris features a cabin that prioritizes both aesthetics and technology. It includes a unique steering “squircle” design with exposed carbon trim and capacitive touch controls, complemented by a conventional digital gauge cluster. The layout is further enhanced by a large infotainment screen positioned low on the dashboard, a secondary screen for the passenger, and a floating gear selector that adds a futuristic touch to the center console.
Karma has opted for an upscale finish in the two-seat configuration, using Crimson Orbit leather and suede with carbon fiber and piano black accents, crafting a luxurious environment for drivers and passengers. The rear compartment has been meticulously designed to accommodate luggage, showcasing the vehicle’s blend of style and practicality. The Amaris also features an electrochromatically adjustable glass roof, adding to its innovative appeal.
The exterior design continues the evolution of Karma’s Comet Line, featuring an all-aluminum space frame and a combination of carbon fiber and aluminum bodywork. The coupe rides on striking 22-inch Constellation wheels and showcases a clamshell hood that incorporates Karma’s signature lighting.
Karma Automotive anticipates that production for the Amaris will commence in the fourth quarter of 2026, with a starting price estimated at around $200,000. Industry experts expect a more formal price announcement closer to the vehicle’s launch for the 2027 model year.
This latest revelation positions the Amaris as a significant player in the luxury electric vehicle market, combining cutting-edge technology with high-performance capabilities. Stay tuned for further updates as the launch date approaches, and be prepared to see this groundbreaking vehicle make waves at Monterey Car Week.
With its blend of power, luxury, and advanced technology, the Amaris is set to capture the attention of automotive enthusiasts and potential buyers globally.
