BREAKING: K-Pop sensations Jennie of Blackpink and BTS members Jin and J-Hope have swept Spotify’s mid-year 2025 Global Impact List, claiming the majority of the top 10 spots for Korean artists streamed outside of South Korea. The list was unveiled by Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, on Monday.
At the forefront of this achievement, Jennie topped the rankings with her hit “Like JENNIE,” while Jin‘s “Don’t Say You Love Me” secured the No. 2 position. Jennie made another appearance at No. 3 with “ExtraL,” a collaboration with Doechii. J-Hope followed closely at No. 4 with “MONA LISA” and returned to the list at No. 5 with “Love Hangover,” featuring Dominic Fike.
The dominance of Jennie and J-Hope reflects their successful solo releases earlier this year, highlighting a significant trend in K-Pop’s evolving landscape. Blackpink’s Jisoo also made the list at No. 7 with her single “Earthquake,” while Le Sserafim broke into the top 10 with “Hot.” In total, 14 K-Pop acts were featured in the top 30, with BTS and Blackpink artists dominating the charts.
Of the top 30 tracks, a remarkable 19 were solo releases, underscoring a shift in focus during the hiatuses of these major groups. Notably, Jennie alone charted a staggering nine songs within the top 30, showcasing her immense popularity and the growing impact of solo artists.
International collaborations are also on the rise, with Jennie teaming up with renowned artists like Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, and Kali Uchis. Meanwhile, J-Hope has worked with music icons such as Miguel and Pharrell Williams, creating culturally rich crossover tracks that resonate globally.
Spotify emphasizes the increasing influence of K-Pop in various media. Blackpink’s Rosé saw her song “Messy” from F1® The Movie reach No. 14, while the original soundtrack “Your Idol” from the animated film Kpop Demon Hunters debuted impressively at No. 41 after just six days of tracking.
The Global Impact List, released biannually, measures the international reach and cross-border popularity of K-Pop artists. As the genre continues to expand its influence, fans and industry experts alike are eager to see what upcoming releases will follow this significant milestone.
As K-Pop continues to carve out its place in the global music landscape, all eyes are on the upcoming projects from these powerhouse artists. Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops!
