HP Unveils EliteBook 6 G1q: 5G Connectivity for Consumers Now!

UPDATE: HP has just announced the launch of the EliteBook 6 G1q, a groundbreaking business laptop featuring optional unlimited 5G connectivity for consumers. This new device is set to revolutionize mobile work capabilities, connecting seamlessly to all major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

The EliteBook 6 G1q, released in April 2025, is positioned as a mid-range laptop with the power of Qualcomm Snapdragon X technology. While it may not rival the premium HP EliteBook Ultra G1i, it offers a compelling feature set that prioritizes connectivity and performance. With a starting price of over $1,000, the device is tailored for professionals on the go, specifically targeting small to medium-sized businesses that require reliable, always-on internet access.

The HP Go 5G service stands out as a key selling point, providing users with no-configuration, unlimited 5G access across the United States. This service is available exclusively through HP’s laptop subscription plan, priced at $85 per month. In contrast, standalone 5G connectivity is expected to roll out globally by 2026, expanding the device’s potential reach.

Users can choose from various configurations of the Snapdragon X series, including options for 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of RAM. The reviewed model features a Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 processor, ensuring smooth performance for everyday tasks. Battery life is impressive, reportedly lasting up to 24 hours of video playback on a single charge.

“5G is absolutely transformative for how (and where!) you can work,” an HP spokesperson stated. “We believe this device will be a game-changer for professionals needing consistent connectivity.”

With a 14-inch IPS FHD+ display and a peak brightness of 483 nits, the EliteBook 6 G1q offers a decent viewing experience, albeit with some noted issues in color accuracy. The device also comes equipped with multiple ports, including two USB4 and a fold-down Ethernet port, making it highly versatile for various connectivity needs.

However, the laptop has drawn some criticism for its design and keyboard quality, which some users find lacking compared to higher-end models. Nonetheless, the enhanced connectivity options and the ease of use with HP Go may outweigh these concerns for many consumers.

As companies increasingly demand remote working solutions, the launch of the HP EliteBook 6 G1q could not come at a better time. The device promises to meet the needs of a mobile workforce, providing the necessary tools to enhance productivity and connectivity, regardless of location.

What’s Next: As HP continues to innovate in the laptop space, tech enthusiasts and business professionals alike will be eager to see how this model performs in the real world. The ability to work from anywhere with reliable 5G connectivity could set a new standard for future devices.

For those looking for a 5G-enabled laptop that prioritizes connectivity and battery life, the HP EliteBook 6 G1q could be the ideal choice. Stay tuned for more updates as user reviews roll in and the device becomes available in markets worldwide.
