Hornets Confirm Options on Miller, Salaun Amid Injury Concerns

UPDATE: The Charlotte Hornets have just announced the exercise of team options on guard Brandon Miller and forward Tidjane Salaun. This critical decision was confirmed on Friday, underscoring the team’s commitment to its young talent.

Miller, the second overall pick in the 2023 draft, is currently sidelined due to a left shoulder subluxation sustained during a matchup against Philadelphia on Saturday. Despite this setback, he has made a significant impact this season, averaging 14.5 points and 4.0 assists in just two games. Last season, he showcased his potential with impressive averages of 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists over 27 games before a season-ending injury.

Meanwhile, Salaun, selected as the sixth overall pick in the 2024 draft, has also had his option exercised. He averaged 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds last season. This year, he is contributing with an average of 4.0 points and 4.8 rebounds over five games.

This decision to secure both players reflects the Hornets’ strategy to build a strong foundation for the future, especially as they navigate the challenges of injuries and player development. The team’s management is clearly banking on these young stars to lead the franchise moving forward.

Fans and analysts alike are closely monitoring the situation, particularly regarding Miller’s recovery and return to the court. As the Hornets prepare for their next match, all eyes will be on whether Miller can bounce back and regain his form.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as the Hornets aim to solidify their roster amidst ongoing challenges.
