Historic Oakland Home Sells for $1.8 Million on Carlston Ave

BREAKING: A historic home located at 733 Carlston Avenue in Oakland has officially changed hands for a staggering $1,800,000. The sale, which closed on June 12, 2025, translates to a remarkable $711 per square foot for the expansive 2,532-square-foot property.

This two-story residence, built in 1926, boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms, making it an attractive option for families seeking space in the competitive Bay Area market. The property sits on a generous 4,130-square-foot lot, providing ample outdoor space as well.

The sale is part of a broader trend in the area, reflecting ongoing demand for historic homes. Nearby, a 2,962-square-foot home on the 800 block of Paramount Road sold for $2,250,000 in November 2022, achieving a price of $760 per square foot. Additionally, a 2,509-square-foot home on Longridge Road fetched $1,700,000 during the same month, and a larger 3,407-square-foot property on Carlston Avenue was sold for $1,950,000 in January 2023.

The Bay Area Home Report indicates that the real estate market remains robust, even as prices fluctuate. As buyers continue to show interest in spacious homes with historical charm, the implications for both local residents and potential investors are significant.

As the market evolves, prospective buyers and sellers are encouraged to keep a close eye on new listings, as demand continues to dictate pricing trends. This recent transaction serves as a reminder of the ongoing vitality of the Oakland housing market, which shows no signs of slowing down.

Stay tuned for further updates on real estate developments in the Bay Area, as new data emerges and market trends shift.
