Greg Cipes Fired by WB After Parkinson’s Diagnosis, Claims Actor

BREAKING: Actor Greg Cipes, known for voicing Beast Boy in Teen Titans, alleges he was fired by Warner Bros. shortly after revealing his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease this past March. The shocking claims emerged following an Instagram post by journalist Emmanuel Newsome, who tagged James Gunn and described the situation as containing “upsetting details.”

Cipes made his diagnosis public in March 2023, and claims that shortly thereafter, he was dismissed from his longtime role. Newsome’s post indicates that he was let go by Sam Register, the president of WB Animation, even as fellow cast members pushed to reverse the decision. Cipes expressed the emotional toll of the news, stating, “It’s like a death to me that only fans can bring back to life.”

The actor has voiced Beast Boy across various projects, including Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go, Young Justice, and DC Super Hero Girls. He is also known for roles in Ben 10, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Ultimate Spider-Man.

In a further twist, Newsome’s post suggested that Cipes might be replaced by a mimic in the upcoming season of Teen Titans Go. To support Cipes, a petition has been launched to urge Warner Bros. to reconsider their decision.

According to a source who spoke to TheWrap, producers of Teen Titans Go had discussions with Cipes about potentially stepping down due to alleged “performance issues.” The source claimed that Cipes’ performance was deemed unsuitable for the role, although the team expressed interest in creating a new character for him to voice. Negotiations were reportedly ongoing prior to the explosive revelations shared by Newsome.

As of now, Warner Bros. and Cipes have not publicly commented further. This story is developing, and updates will follow as more information becomes available. The emotional impact of Cipes’ claims resonates with fans who have rallied behind the beloved character, emphasizing the need for compassion in the entertainment industry.

Stay tuned for more updates on this urgent situation as it unfolds.
