BREAKING: The San Ramon Valley Wolves have made history, capturing the inaugural NCS Division I flag football championship with a thrilling 14-7 victory over the Granada Matadors at Clayton Valley Charter High School on November 6, 2025. This comes as a remarkable achievement for a team that entered the season without any seniors.
Freshman standout Tatum Prindiville emerged as the driving force behind the Wolves’ comeback. With a determination that belied her youth, Prindiville scored two pivotal touchdowns and was named the game’s most valuable player. “We knew we had to come out with the fire,” Prindiville stated following the game. “It was just easy to play with them.”
The Wolves (18-6) faced an early challenge as Granada (15-7) took the lead on a 31-yard touchdown pass from Katie Vail to Marin Lnenicka. However, the second half saw a resurgence from San Ramon Valley, fueled by their dynamic defense and Prindiville’s offensive prowess. The pivotal moment came with a touchdown pass from sophomore Gia Ryan to Prindiville, marking the start of their comeback.
Ryan and Prindiville connected again in the fourth quarter, this time for a 26-yard touchdown, extending the Wolves’ lead and sealing their victory. “The talent is just through the roof,” said head coach Chad Cochran, emphasizing the promising future of this youthful team. “Knowing we get to run this back next year is terrific.”
The championship win marks a significant milestone for San Ramon Valley flag football, now in its third year as a sanctioned sport in California. The exhilaration of this victory was palpable, with players celebrating as the final buzzer sounded. “It was just amazing,” Prindiville reflected. “We’re gonna do the exact same next year. We’re ready for it.”
As the Wolves bask in their hard-fought triumph, the attention now turns to the future. With their young roster, including several key contributors returning next season, the San Ramon Valley Wolves are poised to remain a formidable force in the flag football landscape.
