Francisco Lindor Homers After Wife Katia’s Anthem Performance

UPDATE: In a heartwarming moment at Citi Field, Francisco Lindor smashed a home run just moments after his wife, Katia Lindor, delivered a stunning rendition of the national anthem on her violin. This unforgettable scene unfolded during the New York Mets’ game against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday, July 18, 2025.

Katia, a classically trained violinist, captivated the crowd with her performance as Lindor and their three children cheered from the stands. Following the anthem, Lindor, who was batting .263 with 77 RBI prior to the game, hit his 27th home run of the season in the bottom of the second inning. The joyous moment was captured on camera as Katia celebrated with their children, including their youngest, Koa Amani Lindor.

The Lindor family’s appearance coincided with the Mets’ Hispanic Heritage Night and Lindor being honored as the club’s nominee for the prestigious 2025 Roberto Clemente Award. Katia’s musical background is significant; she minored in music at St. Mary’s University in Texas and has expressed that music has always been an integral part of her life.

“Music being such an intricate part of my education and upbringing since I was little, I just can’t imagine my life without it,” Katia shared in a previous interview.

Earlier in the game, their daughter, Kalina, had the honor of announcing “play ball.” The couple, who married in 2021, welcomed their third child in March 2023, adding to their joyful family dynamic.

With the Mets facing the Padres, the atmosphere was electric, and Lindor’s homer not only boosted team morale but also showcased the deep connections that family and music bring to the sport. Fans and players alike were moved by the emotional celebration, making it a moment to remember for everyone at Citi Field.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Lindor as he continues to chase more milestones and contribute to the Mets’ success. Be sure to watch for upcoming games as the Mets aim to capitalize on this momentum.
