Florida Woman Charged After Reckless Shooting in West Fargo

UPDATE: A Florida woman has been formally charged with multiple felonies following a shocking shooting incident in West Fargo. Brittany Glennon, 35, of Clearwater, faces serious accusations after allegedly firing multiple shots at vehicles and a home on February 6, 2023, just after 2 p.m.

Authorities report that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between Glennon and her girlfriend, a traveling nurse at Sanford in Fargo. The couple has reportedly been experiencing relationship issues since late December, escalating to instances of alleged physical abuse and obsession, according to court documents.

Glennon’s girlfriend left their apartment early on February 6 to stay with a co-worker in West Fargo following a heated argument. Shortly thereafter, Glennon appeared at the home of the co-worker, where witnesses reported seeing her pull out a handgun and fire indiscriminately, hitting two unoccupied vehicles. One eyewitness, the homeowner, described the terrifying moment, stating he dropped to the floor and urged his family to take cover as Glennon fired shots, seemingly targeting the house.

The homeowner identified Glennon as the shooter, claiming he had previously sent her away after she showed up intoxicated looking for her girlfriend. The girlfriend mentioned that Glennon likely tracked her location using a Bluetooth device attached to her keychain.

Police were alerted to the gunfire and quickly responded to the scene in the 400 block of 26th Avenue West. After identifying Glennon’s vehicle, which bore Florida plates, officers attempted a traffic stop. Glennon fled, initiating a pursuit that ended when police used a pursuit intervention technique to safely bring her to a halt in the 3200 block of Veterans Boulevard. Officers recovered the firearm at the scene.

Glennon has been charged with four counts of reckless endangerment with a firearm, terrorizing, and fleeing a police officer, all felonies. Additionally, she faces two misdemeanor DUI offenses. She was arraigned just hours ago in Cass County Court, where a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March.

This alarming event raises serious concerns about domestic violence and public safety. Community members are left shaken by the incident, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and intervention in domestic disputes.

As developments unfold, authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the shooting. Stay tuned for updates on this evolving story, as the legal proceedings progress and more details emerge.
